"I'll lend you for a little time a child of Mine," He said,
"For you to love the while he lives and mourn for when he's dead,
It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or three,
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for Me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and shall his stay be brief
You'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief.
"I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.
I've looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes I have selected you.
Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call to take him back again?"
I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord, Thy will be done."
For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may
And for the happiness we've known forever grateful stay;
But shall the angels call for him much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand."
I wanted to let the family and friends of Justin to know that I am praying for them and thinking of them during this difficult time. The first year is always the hardest.....I've done it twice. But believe me it is still hard after that. Try to remember all the good times you had with Justin and he will live on in you hearts. with those good memories Justin will shine his warm smile on you from heaven.
I just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you as it comes upon a year anniversary for your son. My husband and I and his entire family just went through the year anniversary for Adam and it's hard. I can't imagine being a parent having to bury a child. I've watched my mother do it and a year ago my husband's mom do it.....my heart breaks for you. Just try and remember the good times you and Justin had and he will continue to live on in your heart forever. Thank you for the candle for Adam, it's nice to know that people care. You and the rest of Justin's family are in my thoughts and prayers during your difficult time. God bless you all!
"When it seems that our sorrow is too great
to be borne, let us think of the great family
of the heavy-hearted into which our grief
has given us entrance, and inevitably, we
will feel about us their arms, their
sympathy, their understanding."
